Brodské

Brodské ( until 1927 slovak also " Brodsko " or " crumble "; Brodsko German, Hungarian Gázlós until 1907 Brockó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia Kraj Trnava. It is located in the region Zahorie in Zahorie lowlands at the March, compared with the Czech community Lanzhot. The neighboring municipalities are Kúty in the south and the city Gbely in the east; it is 25 km from Skalica and 67 km from Bratislava.

The first written mention in 1163 ( establishment of a Catholic parish ) or 1273 (under the name Barachka ) and the place was part of the estate of Holic, later of Šaštín. There was a ford at the place ( Slow brod ) by March. The Anabaptists were settled here in the 16th century, but they existed in the place no longer after 1663.

Today Brodské is a major border crossing to the Czech Republic - a highway and a road bridge and the railway bridge leading to the Czech municipalities and Lanzhot Břeclav. By June 2007, the cadastral Štěpnice lay on the territory of the municipality.
