Bronisław Kaper

Bronisław Kaper (also Bronislau or Bronislao Kaper, pseudonyms Benjamin Kapper and Hans Mills, born February 5, 1902 in Warsaw, † April 26, 1983 in Hollywood) was American composer of film scores and popular songs of Polish origin.

Life

Bronisław Kaper was probably born in 1902 in Warsaw. About his birth year can now only speculate as neither documents exist, nor Kaper even during his lifetime, knew his exact date of birth. The fact is that caper was in 1908, at the age of six years, playing the piano, and was a child prodigy in Poland. In his teenage years Kaper wrote already own compositions and then studied at the Warsaw Conservatory of Music. To satisfy his father, who wanted to know his son in a profitable profession, Kaper studied parallel law.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Kaper wrote songs which he presented in England, France and Germany. In Berlin he completed his musical education. Under the pseudonym Benjamin Kapper he also composed for German films and conducted his works. In most cases, together with Walter Jurmann Kaper created numerous pieces for the dance orchestras of that time: Jurmann composed, Caper took care of the arrangements.

1933, after the seizure of power by the National Socialists, Caper fled to France as a Jew working for French directors. 1935 Metro -Goldwyn -Mayer boss Louis B. Bronisław Kaper, who was neither married nor had children, died of cancer at the age of 81 years.
