Brough and Shatton

Brough and Shatton is a civil parish (municipality ) in the High Peak District of Derbyshire in England. The municipality consists of the two hamlets Brough on Noe and Shatton that are about 2 km apart. They lie on the River Noe, a tributary of the Derwent in the Peak District National Park, between Sheffield and Manchester. According to the Census of 2001, the municipality had 145 inhabitants. Between the two parts of the municipality, there is active athletic competitions and other joint events.
A consecration inscription for the goddess of healing Arnemetia ( Arnomecta ) with the text DEAE ARNOMECTE (RIB 281) was found in Brough on Noe.
