Bryn Haworth

Bryn Haworth is a British rock singer and guitarist who has established himself as a solo artist and as a session musician since the early 1970s, a name.

Career

Haworth came in the 1960s from Lancashire to London and joined in 1966 the band Les Fleur de Lys at. Her few recordings were not a commercial success; since the band was but professionally, she played in the studio and live for many artists of her label Polydor as a backing band, especially for Sharon Tandy, whose " upgraded from the Fleur de Lys Singles [ ... ] certainly exciting to, most danceable and flashiest productions of the '67 vintage " belonged.

When the band was disbanded in the spring of 1969, Haworth went to California, where he toured with various groups such as the Jackie Lomax Band or compiled by Bill Graham Wolfgang by the United States. In 1973 he returned to Britain and took Iceland Records for his first solo LP. On " Let the Days Go By " had, among other things, Gordon Haskell and Pete Wingfield with. On his second LP for Iceland, " Sunny Side of the Street" (1974 ), were musicians from Fairport Convention, Madeline Bell and again involved Pete Wingfield. During this time he played the side as a session musician for Gallagher & Lyle, Andy Fairweather -Low and others.

Since 1974 Haworth turned to the Christian faith, which brought a strong gospel influence in his music. For the next solo album he went back to the U.S.: " Grand Arrival" (1978 ) was recorded in Nashville. In the following years he toured extensively in Europe, as the opening act, among other things of Traffic, Bad Company, Gallagher & Lyle and Fairport Convention. More albums and tours followed solo and as Bryn Haworth band. As a session musician, he was from 1975 to 2005, among others, Chris de Burgh, Joan Armatrading, Marianne Faithfull, Cliff Richard, Ian Matthews, John Cale and Gerry Rafferty in the studio. Lulu, Sandy Denny and Mary Black have interpreted Title of Songwriters Haworth.

Since the early 1990s, Bryn Haworth is also dedicated to charitable works. So he goes regularly in prisons, to make music and to give Bible studies. It organized Bryn and his wife Sally in 2006, among others in the high security prison Highdown in Surrey several music workshops with the inmates.

His recordings increasingly devote themselves to Christian themes, such as the titles of his albums " Songs & Hymns " ( "Songs and Hymns ", 1999 ) and " Keep the Faith " ( "Keep the faith ", 2005) is clear.
