The Büdingen ( Oberhess ) station is a railway station in the city Büdingen. The station is located in the core city and is situated on the Lahn- Kinzig -Bahn ( railway - Gelnhausen Giessen ). Next to the station in Büdingen there is the breakpoint Büches - Düdelsheim in Büches district.

History

The station was opened on 30 October 1870 as the end point of the third section of the Lahn- Kinzig -Bahn ( Nidda Büdingen ). The client was Oberhessische Railway Company. Exactly one month later, the railway line was extended to to Gelnhausen.

The receiving station building is now a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act. The station building is now owned by a private investor and is no longer used for years as a train station. The condition is ailing and degenerated.

Traffic

Büdingen is located in the tariff area of the Rhine -Main Transport Association. The station has a house and an intermediate platform. Furthermore it has the train station a few goods or sidings.

Rail traffic

In Büdingen keep only the regional trains of HLB Hesse Bahn GmbH ( Giessen- relation Nidda Glauburg - floor home Gelnhausen ). The main platform ( platform 1) is approached from the trains towards Gelnhausen. Track 2 serves trains with destination Nidda / casting. There is a 60 -minute intervals in both directions, which is supplemented at peak times due to individual half-hourly connections to and from Nidda. Pour in around 75 minutes by train, Frankfurt accessible ( with a change in Gelnhausen RE 50 ) in about an hour.
