Bülent Bölükbaşı

Bülent Bölükbaşı ( born June 17, 1976 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Playing career

Association

Bülent Bölükbaşı began with the club football in the youth of Adana Gençlerbirliği and was in the summer of 1995, professional players at second division Adanaspor. Here he immediately became a regular player and played for two years on a regular basis. For the season 1999 /00 he moved to Hatayspor and played here a long season. He then moved on to league rivals Konyaspor and played here for two years.

For the season 2001 /02 he moved to first division side Gaziantepspor. Already after four weeks, he was loaned out to league rivals Diyarbakirspor. For the next season he returned to Gaziantepspor. Here he achieved the final breakthrough and he made it to the national team. In the season 2002/ 03 they reached the fourth place and qualified for the UEFA Cup. They repeated this success the following season.

For the season 2005/ 06 he moved to Kayserispor and was here two years running. With this team, he reached over the UEFA Intertoto Cup participation in the UEFA Cup. In the summer of 2007/ 08 he returned to Gaziantepspor and played here for one season.

He then worked at various TFF 1 Lig and Süper Lig clubs.

For the summer of 2010 he returned to the club where he started his professional career to Adanaspor. In the season 2011/12 he managed with his club to the play-off final of the TFF 1 Lig In the final they lost in extra time Kasımpaşa Istanbul 2:3 and thus missed the promotion to the Süper Lig until the last encounter. After this failed ascent he ended his playing career.

National

Bülent Bölükbaşı played once for the second selection and once for the initial selection of the Turkish national football team.

Coaching career

After his playing career Bölükbaşı remained about half a year without work and then took over the U-14 team his last club Adanaspors. In this capacity he worked until next summer. In November 2013 he started the U-16 team from the second division Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor to train. Once at this club the end of February 2014, the head coaching position became vacant, he took along with his former teammate Mehmet Polat this post.
