Giresunspor

Giresunspor is a Turkish football club from Giresun. Currently the club plays in the third Turkish league. The club played in the 1970s, a total of six seasons in the Süper Lig and is located in the Eternal table on the 47th.

History

Foundation

Giresunspor was first founded in 1925. However, the club had to be resolved by a new law on March 28, 1941. 26 years after the dissolution it came to the return of the club. Yeşiltepespor, Akıngençlikspor and Beşiktaşspor united and became Giresunspor. The club took over the club colors of Yeşiltepespor, green and white. Before the dissolution of the team's colors were blue and yellow.

The promotion to the 1st League

Giresunspor managed four years after the founding of the rise in the Süper Lig In the first season it reached number twelve. The team held six years in the first league. The sixth place in the 1975/76 season in these years was the best in the club's history. The following year they went from last in the second league. Since managed the club not return to the top flight.

Stadium

The stadium of Giresunspor has a total capacity of 19,750 spectators. Of these, 12,000 seats are covered. It is located west from the city center and is connected to the coast road. The stadium was baptized with the name of the founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The stadium was renovated in the 2009/2010 season. The South Stand, which consisted only of concrete steps at the time, was equipped with seat shells, so that the audience can easily follow the games. In 2012, an escape light plant was built at further modernization works.
