Bülent Korkmaz

Bülent Korkmaz (born 24 November 1968, Malatya ) is a retired Turkish football player. The last coach of the Turkish second division Istanbul Büyüksehir Belediyespor was.

Sporting career

Korkmaz managed in the season 1987/88 the jump from the youth team of Galatasaray in the first team.

He was said to be footballing rather average assessed and to develop his success with hard work and ambition. For this purpose, allegedly served him his German team-mate Reinhard Stumpf as a model.

Korkmaz won eight championships and cup wins in Turkey. In addition, he managed the team of Galatasaray in 2000 the UEFA Cup victory and the win in the Supercup. On 17 August 2005 he played his last match in Sofia for the Turkish national team in the friendly match between Turkey and Bulgaria.

Coaching career

He was first an assistant coach at Gençlerbirliği Ankara before moving to Kayseri Erciyesspor during the winter break of the season 2006/2007 and there was coach. With Kayseri Erciyesspor he reached the Turkish Cup Final, but was unable to prevent relegation.

At the beginning of the 2007/08 season was coach of Turkish first division side Bursaspor Korkmaz. After just nine game days he was released in Bursa.

2007/2008 he took over as coach at Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği from Ankara, but was released before the end of the season because the team with the high expectations from the fans and the Bureau was not fair and stuck in a relegation battle.

After the dismissal of Michael Skibbe at Galatasaray 23 February 2009 Korkmaz has been appointed as the new coach. The initial contract ran until 2010, but handed Korkmaz on 3 June 2009 in his resignation, which was accepted by the Board. After his dismissal at Galatasaray Istanbul Korkmaz coached the Azerbaijani club FK Baku. 8 November 2011 it was announced that Korkmaz is manager of Kardemir Karabükspor. Although Karabükspor with Bulent Korkmaz as coach in the second half 32Punkte fetched, and thus after Galatasaray and Fenerbahce Istanbul 3.beste back round team had been, and at the same time the semi-finals in the Turkish Cup had been reached, the club from the coach early May parted.

On 13 November 2012, Korkmaz coach of the first division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. With this club he failed end of the season to avoid relegation. He was then replaced by Cihat Arslan.
