Burgl Färbinger

Burgl Färbinger ( born October 10, 1945 in Au / Berchtesgaden ) is a German former alpine skier.

Färbinger celebrated the biggest success of her career at the Alpine World Ski Championships 1966 in Portillo, when she won the bronze medal in the downhill. The medal was awarded to her, however, until years later, after it had been found that the original winner Erika Schinegger actually is a man. Färbinger won a World Cup slalom on February 1, 1967 in Monte Bondone.

At the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble she finished sixth in the slalom and the tenth place in the giant slalom. 1963, 1965, 1966 and 1969 won Färbinger the title of the German Cup Alpine Skiing, 1967 and 1968 in the giant slalom and the slalom in 1966 and 1968. After the 1969 season, Färbinger retired from competitive sport and led along with her husband Max Leo a pension and a ski school.
