The Cagayan ( eng.: Cagayan River), also known as the Cagayan de Oro River or as Batang River, is a river flowing in the province of Bukidnon and Miami's Oriental in the Philippines. Its source originates in the central Kalatungan Mountains of about 2,500 meters on Mount Kalatungan on the island of Mindanao. The river flows into the city of Cagayan de Oro in the Mindanaosee. The Cagayan has a length of 90 km and a catchment area of 1521 km ², which includes amongst others the communities Talakag, Baungon and smaller parts of the province of Lanao del Sur are counted. Its main tributaries are the Kulawaig, the Tumalaong and Bubunawan.

The Cagayan flows to its headwaters in a canyon -like valley that separates the mountains of Kalatungan and Kitanglad. After the confluence with its major tributaries, on the border with the province of Misamis Oriental the river will continue. At its tributary Bubunawan the 100 -meter high waterfalls are the Bubunawan Falls, where an eponymous hydroelectric power plant, power is 7 megawatts operated.
