Med Atan (2014)

Med Atan [ tʃa ː daʃ atan ] (* February 29, 1980 in Izmir) is a Turkish footballer who currently plays as a central defender for Akhisar Belediyespor.

Career

Association

Med Atan began his football career in 2000 at Marmarisspor. He then worked at Altay Izmir and Denizlispor. 2004 changed the defender to Beşiktaş Istanbul. In the same year Atan made ​​his international debut in the first round of the UEFA Cup 2004/ 05 in the starting lineup, the away match against FK Bodø / Glimt. In the Süper Lig 2004/ 05 Atan played 20 times. Just as often, he stood in the following Süper Lig season on the court, in the UEFA Cup, he came to five appearances.

From 2006 to 2008 the central defender played for Trabzonspor. Atan moved to season 2008/ 09 free to Energie Cottbus. On 24 June 2009 he signed for FC Basel a two year contract.

In the season 2010/11 med Atan was with FC Basel for the second time Swiss champion. After this season of FC Basel did without a contract extension.

On 18 August 2011 it was announced that med Atan has the Turkish club Mersin İdman Yurdu joined, who had risen in the last season in the Super Lig.

After just one season at Mersin IY he left this club and moved within the League newly promoted Akhisar Belediyespor.

National

Med Atan played twice for the Turkish national team. Making its debut on 18 February 2004 in a friendly against Denmark coach Senol Güneş joined him in the 74th minute. On his second international appearance on 31 March 2004 against Croatia Atan was substituted by interim coach Ünal Karaman for the second half. In the 78th minute, he managed a hit.
