California State University, Los Angeles

The California State University, Los Angeles ( Cal State LA or CSULA also called ) is a state university in Los Angeles in the U.S. state of California. At the University of 21,000 students are enrolled.

History

The CSULA was founded in 1947 as the Los Angeles State College. It was renamed in 1964 in California State College at Los Angeles. It was given its present name in 1972 when it became part of the California State University system.

Sports

The sports teams are the CSULA Golden Eagles. The university is a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
