Canal Winchester is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, United States. The town is an independent municipality ( "Village" ) and has about 4,500 inhabitants. (As of the census of 2000. ) Canal Winchester is located on the Ohio - Erie Canal in Franklin County.

In Canal Winchester are a number of listed buildings that were listed on the National Register of Historic Places ( NRHP). For this, the oldest still operating school of Ohio, the 1862 built Canal Winchester School, which Bergstresser was built in 1887 Covered Bridge over Little Walnut Creek, last remaining covered bridge in the county, which was built in 1908 Methodist Church, with its arched windows and the historic town center include Columbus Street Historic District.
