Canton of Marans

The canton of Marans is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement of La Rochelle, in Charente -Maritime in the Poitou -Charentes; its chief town is Marans.

Geography

The canton of Marans is 18,595 acres ( 185.95 km ²) in size and has 9,644 inhabitants (as of 1999), which corresponds to a population density of around 52 inhabitants per km ². He is on average 6 meters above sea level, between 0 meters and 25 meters in Andilly in Saint- Ouen- d'Aunis.
