Carl Albert Andersen

Carl Albert " Flisa " Andersen ( born August 15, 1876 in Østre Aker, † September 28, 1951 in Oslo) was a Norwegian athlete and gymnast, who was successful in the early 20th century. He participated in three Olympic Games: 1900 in Paris, 1906 in Athens and 1908 in London.

  • In Paris, he went to the two jump competitions - the high jump and pole vault - at the start. In the Pole Vault, he won with skipped 3.20 m BRONZE behind the two Americans Irving Baxter ( gold with 3.30 m) and Meredith Colket ( silver with 3.25 meters), and in the high jump, he came with a power of 1, 70 m in fourth place ( the third-place finisher, the Hungarian Lajos Gonczy, jumped 5 cm higher).
  • At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis, he was not at the start.
  • In Athens and London Andersen participated as a member of the Norwegian Turner team and won once each GOLD and SILVER.

He also won six state championships in the high jump and pole vault:

As its name no longer appears after 1900 among the three winners of the Norwegian Athletics Championships, is to assume that he finally moved over to the gym after that date.
