Carl Tietz

Carl Tietz ( born January 25, 1831 in Jastrow, West Prussia; † August 3, 1874 in Oberdöbling ) was a German architect of historicism, who lived in Austria and worked.

Carl Tietz, who came from a humble background, completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and later worked as a construction manager with Eduard Titz (who was not related to him ). In 1852 he passed the examination master craftsmanship. Since he was appointed in the same year by Eduard Titz the construction of Circus Renz in Vienna, Carl Tietz came to Austria and remained henceforth here as an architect. In Vienna Tietz was one of the ring roads architects. In strictly historicist style, he built numerous important palace. In 1869, before he mentally ill, he had 36 different sites in Vienna. He died in a private psychiatric clinic in Oberdöbling.
