Carmel Valley AVA

Carmel Valley AVA ( recognized since 14 December 1982) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of ​​Monterey County, southeast of Carmel -by-the -Sea. The wine-growing area is located within the Santa Lucia Range along the Carmel River. The vineyards are mostly above 300 m above sea level. NN and therefore are not cooled by the mists of the Pacific coast. The Bergslagen are thus warmer than the valleys. There are therefore mostly late-ripening grape varieties grown.
