Carmen Dell'Orefice

Carmen Dell'Orefice ( born June 3, 1931 in New York City ) is an American model and actress. At the age of 15, she first appeared on the cover of fashion magazine Vogue. In 2012 she was the world's oldest model, which presented the Spring- Summer Collection.

Biography

Carmen's parents were Italian and Hungarian origin. She spent part of her childhood in care facilities or living with relatives. From 1942 she lived again with her ​​mother, who moved to New York City with her. At the age of 13, she was discovered on the bus by the wife of photographer Herman Landschoff, approached and hired for a modeling job. Two years later, in 1946, she signed a contract with Vogue. The American was the favorite model of photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, they took pictures next to the former supermodel Dorian Leigh and the actors Ray Bolger and Jose Ferrer as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Cinderella. The cover with Dell'Orefice was released in December 1947.

In the early 1950s, married Dell'Orefice Bill Miles, with whom she has a daughter. After the birth quickly followed the divorce and married her in 1958 for the second time. Her husband was the photographer Richard Heimann. After she decided to quit Models profession, he left her.

Her third marriage to the architect Richard Kaplan in the mid- 1960s lasted nine years. 1978 decided Carmen Dell'Orefice to return to work as a model, and she continued her career up to the present.
