Carol Cady

Carol Therese Cady ( born June 6, 1962 in Los Alamos, New Mexico) was an American track and field athlete. She went on to international championships in the shot put and discus throw.

Career

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles Cady finished with 17.23 meters seventh. In 1985 at the World Indoor Games in Paris -Bercy it was with 15.44 meters eighth. In 1988, she joined the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul in the discus throw, finishing in eleventh place with 63.42 meters. 1985 and 1986 was Cady U.S. champion in discus throw.

The 1.70 m wide Cady was also active in weightlifting, it was 1985, 1986 and 1989 U.S. champion in the light heavyweight and 1988 champion in the heavyweight division. The weight limit between the two classes was in the 1980s, 82.5 kg.
