Caroline Lavelle

Caroline Lavelle (born 1969 ) is a British pop / rock singer and cellist who has released three solo albums and participated in numerous other artists and bands projects.

Career

Caroline Lavelle studied at the Royal College of Music in London. During the 1980s she played Baroque music in a band called Humouresque on the road, often outside the metro stations Kensington and Covent Garden.

It was accosted by Frankie Gavin, who asked her to join his band De Dannan. She remained in the band until the beginning of the 1990s, along with Mary Black and Dolores Keane.

In 1992, she contributed voice and cello to the title "Home of the Whale" in on the Massive Attack -EP Hymn of the Big Wheel. Producer William Orbit became aware of it and a 1995 production of her solo debut album Spirit. In the same year she began with the Canadian artist Loreena McKennitt to make recordings and tours. Since then it is one of Loreenas band.

According to a newspaper report by the British Sunday Times was this album Madonna attention to them and Caroline has worked with William Orbit and Madonna. It produced two more albums, Brilliant Midnight (2001) and A Distant Bell ( 2004).

Your " Home Of The Whale" track ( with Massive Attack) is ( with Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd ) can be heard in the film The Eye. Caroline participated with the song Anxiety on the soundtrack to the John Dahl film Joyride.

She currently lives in southern England and is working on her fourth album. Caroline can also be heard on her Ancient Muse tour with Loreena McKennitt.
