The Cascade Township is one of 17 townships in Dubuque County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Iowa.

Geography

The Cascade Township is located in Eastern Iowa about 45 km west of Dubuque, which is situated at Iowa from Illinois separating Mississippi center of the region. The Township is drained by the northern Maquoketa River.

The Cascade Township is located at 42 ° 20'32 " north latitude and 91 ° 04'01 " west longitude and extending over 92.68 km ².

The Cascade Township borders within the Dubuque County to the Dodge ( in the north), Taylor ( in the northeast ) and the Whitewater Township (in the east ). In the west, the Cascade Township borders the Delaware County and on the south by the Jones County.

Traffic

By Cascade Township runs from northeast to southwest Iowa Highway 136, which meets the freeway developed U.S. Highway 151 in the southeastern township.

The nearest out-of Cascade Township airfields are the 22.5 km south west Monticello Regional Airport and 41 km east-northeast of the location, Dubuque Regional Airport.

Population

In the census in 2010, the township had 1135 inhabitants.

The only independent municipality is Cascade, which is only in part but in Cascade Township.
