Case IH

Case IH is a brand of tractor of CNH Global, which in turn belongs to 90% of Fiat Industrial. The name is derived from the two predecessor companies Case Corporation and International Harvester.

History

Case IH arose after the Case Corporation in 1984, acquired the farm equipment division of International Harvester. 1985 authorized the Department of Justice of the United States the takeover. Since then, the agricultural machinery of Case Corporation are marketed under the brand names Case IH, while Case and Case CE ( = Construction Equipment ) is for sale.

In 1995, with the Concord Inc., a manufacturer of tillage machines and over 1996 Austoft Holdings Limited is a manufacturer of machines for harvesting sugar cane. In the same year took over from Case IH Steyr Daimler Puch (with the brand Steyr) tractor production.

In 1997, the Case Progress agricultural machinery GmbH ( the former VEB Progress agricultural machinery until 1990).

In 1999, the Case New Holland Corporation was merged to form CNH Global therefrom.

Case- IH tractors in Belleville (France ), Paris and St. Valentin ( Austria ) are manufactured for the European market, former production sites existed in Neuss (until 1997 ) and Doncaster (Great Britain until 2000).

The merger with the tractor manufacturer New Holland CNH was created in 1999, Case IH remained as an independent brand exist. According to the requirements of the antitrust case had to give up several brand names, including McCormick.
