Cathy McMorris Rodgers

Cathy McMorris Rodgers ( May 22nd, 1969 in Salem, Oregon) is an American politician. She is a member of the Republican Party and Member of Parliament since 2005 for the 5th Congressional District of Washington in the House of Representatives of the United States.

Biography

Cathy McMorris Rodgers was born on a farm and grew up there. For 13 years she worked in the family business Peach Crest Fruit Basket Orchard in Kettle Falls. McMorris Rodgers is a descendant of American pioneers who arrived in the early 1850s over the Oregon Trail in the Pacific Northwest, where the family of her father in agriculture and her mother in the forestry sector, the family worked.

McMorris Rodgers acquired in 1990 a Bachelor in Pre-Law from Pensacola Christian College. In 2002, she obtained his Master of Business Administration at the University of Washington. From 1994 to 2004 she was in the House of Representatives from Washington Representative for the 7th electoral district. There she held 2002-2003, the function of the House Republican leader ( leader of the Republicans ).

Since January 2005, McMorris Rodgers Member is in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is there as Republican Conference Vice - Chair since 2008. She was active in the Committees on Armed Forces, natural resources, education and work.

On August 5, 2006 Cathy McMorris married the former Navy Commander Brian Rodgers. On April 29, 2007, her son Cole was born. This made her the fifth woman in history who, during their term of office as congressman was having a baby. Wherein the child Down syndrome was diagnosed. McMorris Rodgers is evangelical Christian.
