Ceann Comhairle
The Ceann Comhairle [ cɑ ː n ko ː ɾ ʲ l ʲ ə ] ( Irish: Chairman of the Council ') is the chairman or spokesman of the Irish House of Dáil Éireann. The Ceann Comhairle is elected at the first meeting after an election from among the lower house of parliament of this.
Overview
From the Chairman strict impartiality is required. Regardless of course, the government is trying to choose a chairman from among its own ranks to achieve. History
The Ceann Comhairle position exists so long as the Dáil, that is, since the creation of the first ( revolutionary ) Dáil in 1919.
