Central Highlands Council

The Central Highlands are located in the center of the island about 60 km north- west of the capital Hobart. The area includes 31 districts and towns: Arthurs Lake, Bothwell Bradys Lake, Brandurn, Bronte Park, Buders Gorge, Cramps Bay, Dee, Derwent Bridge, Ellendale, Fentonbury, Gretna, Hamilton, Hermitage, Hollow Tree, Interlaken, Lake St. Clair, Liawenee, Meadowbank, Miena, Osterley, Ouse, Pelharn, Reynolds Neck, Rintstone, Shannon, Tarraleah, Tods Corner, Victoria Valley, Wayatinah and Waddamana. The seat of the City Council is located in Hamilton in the southeast of the LGA, where about 300 inhabitants.

Management

The Central Highlands Council has nine members. The Mayor ( Mayor ), his deputy ( deputies) and Councillor seven are elected directly by the residents of the LGA. Central Highlands is not divided into districts.
