Chapelle, Glâne

Chapelle (Glâne ) ( Freiburg Patois Tsapala? / I ) is a municipality in the district of the canton of Fribourg Glane in Switzerland. By 1953, the church was called officially Chapelle- sur- Gillarens.

Geography

Chapelle (Glâne ) lies at 739 m above sea level. M., 14 km south-southwest of the district town Romont ( straight line ), above Oron- la -Ville. The farming village stretches along a sloping hillside to the south east of the upper course of the Broye, in the southwest of Fribourg Mittelland.

The area of ​​2.0 km ² large municipality area includes a portion of the Molasseplateaus of Fribourg Mittelland. The area extends in a narrow strip on the hills northeast of Oron- la -Ville from the plateau in Deley Champ north across the slope of Chapelle down to the forest height Esserts Dessus, on 806 m above sea level. With 258 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Chapelle (Glâne ) belongs to the small communities of the Canton of Fribourg. Of the 92.4 % inhabitants are French-speaking, German-speaking 6.6 % and 0.5 % speak Italian ( as of 2000). The population of Chapelle (Glâne ) amounted in 1850 to 173 residents in 1900 to 146 inhabitants. Only since 1970 (119 inhabitants) a significant population increase was recorded.

Economy

Chapelle (Glâne ) was up in the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1354 under the name of Capella. Chapelle (Glâne ) belonged since the Middle Ages to the rule Rue, which was under the protection of the House of Savoy. When the Bernese 1536 Vaud conquered, the village came under the rule of Freiburg and the Bailiwick Rue was assigned. Attractions
