Charlotte Eagles

The Charlotte Eagles are an American football team from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Eagles were founded in 1993 and play in the USL Professional Division, the third- highest division in the U.S. league system.

The Eagles are part of Missionary Athletes International ( MAI), a Christian sports organization, which spread through the sport the message of Christianity. With the Southern California Seahorses, a sister club exists in the USL Premier Development League.

History

The club played at first in the A-League (later USL First Division ) had but for financial reasons, a league go down. The biggest rivals of the club are the Atlanta Silverbacks FC of the North American Soccer League and Charleston Battery of the USL First Division.

In the 2000 and 2005 season, the Eagles won the play-offs were. In the 2006 season, the Charlotte Eagles reached the play-off finals and lost to the Richmond Kickers.

Since 2011, the team plays in the American Division of the USL Professional Division.
