Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force
Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force ( CMSAF ) is the highest NCO rank in the U.S. Air Force. There is only one NCO (Non Commissioned Officer ) who holds this rank while this service position. He is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force ( CSAF ).
Tasks
The CMSAF is the superior of noncommissioned officer corps of the U.S. Air Force and serves on the staff of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force at. The CMSAF is the spokesman for the NCOs and body of its concerns. He will be paid according to the grade E -9 ( NATO Rank Code OR -9).
On 1 November 2004, the insignia of the CMSAF was changed. Now it includes the Great Seal of the United States and two stars in the upper portion while the laurel wreath underneath remained unchanged to preserve the tradition of the badge.
