Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard

The Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard ( MCPOCG ) is a service position of a commissioned officer of the United States Coast Guard; He is also Senior Enlisted Advisor. He is appointed by the Commandant of the Coast Guard, his four-year tenure corresponds with that of the Commandants.

First incumbent was Charles Calhoun; current ( 11 ) incumbent is since May 21, 2010 Michael P. Leavitt, its predecessor was Charles W. Bowen. Its role is advisory and mediating function within the branches of the armed force, with higher authorities and between Coast Guard employees and their family members.
