Chimoré, Cochabamba

Chimoré is a small town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Chimoré is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Chimoré in the province of Carrasco. The city lies at an altitude of 243 m on the left bank of the Río Chimoré which flows in a northeasterly direction to the Río Ichilo.

Geography

Chimoré is located in the Bolivian lowlands on the northeastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental in the Bolivian Yungas.

The mean average temperature of the region is 27 ° C (see climate chart Villa Tunari ) and varies only slightly between 23 ° C in June and July and nearly 29 ° C from November to February. The climate is humid throughout the year, the annual rainfall is about 2,300 mm. The maximum rainfall is in the summer months of December and January with over 300 mm, less humid are the winter months from June to September each with 60-100 mm of precipitation.

By Chimoré leads the 1657 km long highway Ruta 4, which begins in the far west to the Chilean border at Tambo Quemado and cross via the Altiplano and Cochabamba to Villa Tunari at the foot of the Cordillera. From Villa Tunari is 22 km to the neighboring town Shinahota and another 10 km to Chimoré. The Ruta 4 then continues up to the lowland city of Santa Cruz and finally ends in the southeastern part of the country on the border with Brazil in the city of Puerto Quijarro.
