Chopin - longing for love is a Polish film from 2002 The film deals with the relationship between the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin and the French writer George Sand. .
Action
Frédéric Chopin suffers in the hope of a scholarship under the despotic Grand Duke Constantine. When the Grand Duke of assassination plots against his person learns, Chopin traveled to his father's urging of the impending revolt in Paris.
While in the French capital erupts cholera, Chopin has no success with his music and has to abide by the piano in courtly salons afloat. Since he no longer wants to be there treat you like a slave any longer, he is considering emigrating to America. His success in Paris is only achieved when playing on a Soirée with Baroness Rothschild Franz Liszt Chopin's " Revolutionary Etude " and Chopin himself recites more of his works.
While Chopin lived in engagement with Marie Bertrand, he learns about his friend Franz Liszt, the newly divorced writer George Sand and her children, Maurice and Solange know. After the father of his fiancée refuses a wedding, George Sand and Chopin fall in love and move to Mallorca. Maurice is hostile to the new boyfriend of his mother; Chopin himself ill with tuberculosis. George Sand sees himself in conflict, having to choose between their children and Chopin; between her and Chopin it comes to a rift.
Years later, George Sand and Chopin live in a tension-filled relationship in Nohant- Vic. As long has grown into a young woman and ensnared Chopin. While George Sand is set by her publisher under deadline pressure, Maurice tried for fear now after losing his father, his mother, to take her own life. The conflict over Maurice causes Chopin takes off. Meanwhile begins long as an affair with the sculptor Schlesinger, draws up a bust of George Sand, to forestall her mother. In 2003, Danuta Stenka was honored for her role as George Sand with the Polish Film Award for Best Actress. Nominations were for Magdalena Tesławska and Paweł Grabarczyk ( Best Costume ), Andrzej Przedworski ( Best Art Direction ) and Nikodem Wolk - Łaniewski ( Best Sound ).
In the same year won at the WorldFest Houston Film Competition Edward Kłosiński ( Gold Award in the category of Independent Theatrical Feature Films - Cinematography) and Jerzy Antczak ( Platinum Award in the category Best Drama ).
