Choťovice

Choťovice ( German Chotiowitz, also Chotowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers east of Poděbrady and belongs to Okres Kolin.

Geography

Choťovice is located on the left bank of the pond fed by the Cidlina Žehuňský fishpond on the East Bohemian panel. On the opposite side of the pond the railway line Velky Osek - Trutnov runs, there is also the railway station " Choťovice ". Southwest of the hill Kozi Hůra rises (272 m). In the south of the village is bypassed by the D 11/Europastraße Highway 67.

Neighboring towns are Dlouhopolsko, Na Kopičáku and Kněžičky in the north, Lovčice and Bludy in the northeast, Převýšov, Zbraň and Končice in the east, Rozehnaly and Radovesnice II to the southeast, Dománovice in the south, Polní Chrčice the southwest, Žehuň and Libněves in the west and Hradcany and Stara BAN in the northwest.

History

According to old traditions should be confessed in Choťovice a stronghold of Slavnikiden. In the year 995, the Přemyslids use in league with the Vršovci the absence of the army of the Slavnikiden to conquer their territories. It should have been destroyed, the festivals Choťovice.

The first written mention of the village was in 1357, when Mikuláš and Jan Bartek were named as owner, probably built around 1345 celebrations. Another owner is detectable from 1392 Mikuláš of Chotějovice. In 1414, the Choťovice has been connected to the rule Hradišťko. The floor plan of the place with its central 150 m long and 100 m wide marketplace where all roads lead, suggests that Choťovice has been created as an urban settlement. After 1492, the Cidlina had been dammed up to a large Zehuner fish pond, the place was right on the edge of the water and could not expand. In the Berni rula 1654 ten peasant holdings, six sojourners and two Kötter are reported for Choťovice.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chotějovice / Chotowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Nový Bydžov. In 1870 took on the opposite shore of the lake at Tiergarten Zehuner the railway United Wossek - Wostromer the traffic on. Opened in 1895, the place a four-year school. At the end of the 19th century, the name of the village changed initially in Chotovice and then in Choťovice. 1931 518 people lived in the village. On 1 January 1961 Choťovice was incorporated into Žehuň and came at the same time to fulltext your real estates. Since the beginning of 2007 it belongs to the Okres Kolin.
