Chris Buck

Chris Buck ( born October 25, 1960) is an American film director, screenwriter and animator.

Life

Buck attended the California Institute of the Arts and later landed at the Walt Disney Company, which had co-founded the Institute. After he was involved there in numerous film projects as animator in 1993 with an episode of the TV series Dog with family Bucks debut as a director. He then wrote the screenplay for Pocahontas, in which he also animated the characters Percy, grandmother Willow and Wiggins. For Surf's Up, in which he also addresses the role of the filmmaker, Buck was first time in 2008 nominated for the Oscar for best animated feature film. At the Academy Awards in 2014, he shared with Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho the Oscar for the film The Ice Queen - Fully unabashedly.

Buck lives in Wichita, Kansas.
