Jennifer Lee (filmmaker)

Jennifer Lee (born 1971 in East Providence, Rhode Iceland ) is an American director, screenwriter and film producer.

Life

In her youth Lee played the flute and was active as a cheerleader. She started an English degree at the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and then went to New York to work as a graphic designer in publishing for Random House. But after Lee's then-boyfriend died 20 years old, she was henceforth tell their own stories and enrolled at Columbia Film School, where she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts. During this time, Lee gave birth to her daughter Agatha. At university she met on the first day Phil Johnston.

Lee and Johnston wrote the screenplay for the film Ralph 's enough. In November 2012 Lee published together with Maggie Malone and John Lasseter, the book The Art of Wreck- It Ralph.

With her work for The Ice Queen - Completely unabashed Lee was the first female director of a Disney movie. They also took some speaking roles in the film. Her daughter Agatha sang along with Kristen Bell and Katie Lopez the piece Do You Want to Build a Snowman? one. Together with Chris Buck and Peter Del Vecho she was honored at the Oscar ceremony in 2014 with the Oscar for best animated feature film.

On May 30, 1999 Lee Robert Joseph Monn married in Rhode Iceland. She currently lives with her family in a canyon in the San Fernando Valley.
