Chris Karrer

Christoph Karrer ( born January 20, 1947 in Kempten ( Allgäu) ) is a German musician and composer. He is a founding member of Amon Düül and known for its association with embryo and Ernst Fuchs. He plays guitar, oud, violin and saxophone.

Life and work

Karrer began playing at age twelve banjo and soprano saxophone. After he attained university entrance at boarding school in Marktoberdorf, he went to study at the Art Academy in Munich. In 1967 he founded with Peter Leopold, Dieter Serfas and other band Amon Düül. With his band, Amon Düül II, Karrer occurred in 1970 at the legendary Beat-Club.
