Christer Boustedt

Christer Boustedt ( born March 21, 1939 in Bromma, † 4 September 1986 Alfta, Ovanåker ) was a Swedish jazz musician (alto saxophone), who became known as an actor.

Career

Boustedt played in the late 1960s with George Russell ( The Essence of George Russell), he was a member of the bands of Gugge Hedrenius and Lasse Werner. In Ninne Olsson's film Sven sound kvintet (1976 ) he was the lead actor and played the leader of a dance combo in the 1950s. Only in the 1980s, he performed with a separate group, which specialized in Neobop. For his album Plays Thelonious Monk, he was awarded the Gyllene Skivan. He also wrote the soundtrack to some Swedish films like Lyftet (1978 ), The enes död (1980 ) or Sista budet (1981 ) and television series. Posthumously, he was recognized by Django d'Or as Legend of Jazz 2008.

According to him, Christer Boustedt Award was named, are awarded the Swedish young jazz musicians.
