Christian Herman Winkelmann

Christian Hermann Winkelmann ( born September 12, 1883 in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA, † November 18, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas, USA) was Bishop of Wichita.

Life

Christian Hermann Winkelmann received on 11 June 1907, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On September 13, 1933, he was named by Pope Pius XI. Titular Bishop of Sita and Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Louis. The Archbishop of Saint Louis, John Joseph Glennon, donated to him on November 30th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Kansas City -Saint Joseph, Thomas Francis Lillis, and the Bishop of Leavenworth, Francis John.

On December 27, 1939, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Bishop of Wichita.
