Christian Mortensen

Christian Mortensen ( born Thomas Peter Thorvald Kristian Ferdinand Mortensen, born August 16, 1882 in Skaarup in Skanderborg, Denmark, † April 25, 1998 in San Rafael, California ) was a Danish- American age record holder and at the age of 115 years 252 days died. Life

In Denmark, he earned his living first as a farm laborer and did dressmaking. Mortensen 1903 emigrated to the United States, lived in different areas and worked as a milkman and a cannery. He was married briefly and had no children. Occasionally he smoked cigars. In 1978, he moved to a retirement community in San Rafael ( California), where he spent his twilight years.

After the death of Frederick Frazier in June 1993, the Super Centenarian Mortensen became the oldest living man, but this category did not exist in the former Guinness Book of Records.
