Christian Träsch

Träsch (2010)

Träsch ( born September 1, 1987 in Ingolstadt ) is a German national football player who currently is under contract with the Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. He usually plays as a right back or in defensive midfield.

Association

He joined at the tender age of four, the TV 1861 Ingolstadt at and changed after a few years to city rival MTV Ingolstadt. He moved into the winter break after his first year in the B- youth football boarding school of TSV 1860 Munich, where he played for the second team since 2006. In July 2007 Träsch joined the second team of VfB Stuttgart. His Bundesliga debut Träsch in the starting lineup for the first team of VfB 3 February 2008 against FC Schalke 04, his first Bundesliga goal he succeeded on October 4, 2008 at the home game against Werder Bremen with his first goal in the Bundesliga. January 21, 2009 Träsch extended his contract at VfB prematurely until June 2012.

In July 2011 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg. Here the come signed for 10 million national player a contract until 2015. Since August 6, 2011 Träsch is the captain of Wolfsburg and thus succeeds Marcel Schäfer.

National

On 19 May 2009 he was first nominated by national coach Joachim Loew for the upcoming Asian tour of the A-team of the DFB. His international debut was Träsch on June 2, 2009 in Dubai against the UAE. On 6 May 2010 he was appointed by national coach Joachim Loew in the extended squad for the 2010 World Cup. One capsule injury in the right ankle, the Träsch drew upon on May 24, 2010 in a practice match of the national team against FC Alto Adige, prevented Träschs participation in the World Cup tournament in South Africa. He was scheduled by the DFB - team coach for the final World Cup squad.

In the two years after the World Cup Träsch was regularly DFB squad and brought it to eight inserts ( all but one in friendlies ). He could on the position of right-back but do not establish and was not considered for the European Championship.
