Christopher Hinterhuber

Behind Christopher Huber ( born June 28, 1973 in Klagenfurt) is an Austrian pianist.

Life

Behind Christopher Huber began studying music at the Conservatory of Klagenfurt. Subsequently, he attended the class of Rudolf Kehrer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. 1996-98 he studied at the same time at the Accademia " Incontri col Maestro " in Imola with Lazar Berman, Leonid Margarius, Alexander Lonqich, Louis Lortie and others. In 1998 he completed his education in the class of Heinz Medjimorec at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Behind Huber worked with European symphony orchestras and performed under conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yakov Kreizberg, Bruno Weil, Sylvain Cambreling, Dennis Russell Davies, Bertrand de Billy, Christian Arming, Howard Griffith and Beat Furrer. Chamber music, he played with the violinist Ernst Kovacic, Rainer Honeck, Patricia Kopatchinskaja.

Christopher Hinterhuber has participated in international competitions and was a prize winner of the Bach competition in Leipzig and Saarbrücken, the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich, the Unisa Competition in Pretoria and won the 2001 2nd Prize and several special prizes at the Beethoven Competition in Vienna.

Were respected International Huber's background recordings of piano works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and piano concertos by Ferdinand Ries, published by Naxos label. The Ries series was begun in 2006 with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, March 2009 Vol.3 appeared with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. His recording of works for piano and orchestra by Johann Nepomuk Hummel received the Editor's Choice of the English Gramophone magazine. In 2000 Behind Huber joined the Austrian- French film " The Piano " by Michael Haneke on the book by Elfriede Jelinek in picture ( his hands ) and sound (works by Schubert, Schoenberg and Rachmaninov ) on.

Since October 2010 he has been professor of piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Behind Huber took over in 2012 by Claus - Christian Schuster plays the piano part of the Altenberg Trio.

He lives in Vienna.
