Summit cross of the South Summit

The Chrüzlistock is a mountain north of Rueras on the border between the cantons of Graubünden and Uri in Switzerland with a height of 2'707, 4 m above sea level. M. The mountain consists of a double summit with the South Summit with 2'717 m above sea level. M. is higher than the main peak. Just below the summit runs the Gotthard base tunnel, the Gotthard axis of the NEAT.

Location

The Chrüzlistock belongs to the Piz Giuv chain, a subset of the Glarus Alps. It lies north of the Surselva, east of the Reuss Valley and south of the Maderanertal. About the Summit, the municipal boundary between the Grisons community Sedrun and the Uri community silenes runs. The Chrüzlistock is bordered by Val Strem in the east, from the Val Milà in the southwest and from Chrüzlital in the north.

The summit is in the chain that leads from the west in the Piz Piz Nair Giuv and northeast across the Chrüzlipass to Oberalpstock. The south branch off three shorter transverse ridges which four valleys, Val Strem, Val Milà, Val Giuv and Val Val ( from east to west ) from each other.

Among the neighboring peaks include the Witenalpstock, the Oberalpstock, the Piz Ault, the Piz da Strem, the Caschlè, the Piz Nair and the Mutschmann.

Valley location are Rueras and Bristen. Frequent starting point is at 2,052 m above sea level. M. lying Etzlihütte SAC, in the same Etzlital.
