Chuck Grillo

Chuck Grillo is an American professional ice hockey scout and former general manager of the NHL franchise the San Jose Sharks. He is currently on the scouting team of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Career

Grillo began in 1980 as a scout in the National Hockey League ( NHL). For eight years until 1988 he worked in the scouting system of the New York Rangers. Then he went to the Minnesota North Stars, before he was taken to the 1991/92 season by the San Jose Sharks under contract. After the first general was sacked manager of the franchise, Jack Ferreira after the first season of his office, took Grillo, together with the then coach George Kingston and Dean Lombardi, the management of the team. Grillo remained until the end of the 1996/97 season with Lombardi in the office after Kingston had left the franchise after the 1992/93 season. Grillo was therefore responsible for the undertaking of the later Calder Memorial Trophy - winner Evgeni Nabokov. After his time with the Sharks, he moved to scouting team of the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he went to the 2006/07 season in his sixth season. Among other things he was responsible for the selection of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jordan Staal, Marc -Andre Fleury and Ryan Whitney at various Entry Drafts.

In addition, established and curates Grillo and his wife Clairene the Minnesota Hockey Camps, a highly successful program for young American hockey players.
