Chulpan Khamatova

Chulpan Nailjewna Khamatova (Russian Чулпан Наильевна Хаматова ); Scientific transliteration Culpan Nailjevna Chamatova; ( Born October 1, 1975 in Kazan, Soviet Union) is a Russian actress of Tatar origin.

Life

Khamatova began studying mathematics and economics at the University of Kazan, before she transferred to the Kazan theater school. From there they went to the State Higher School of Theatre ( Gitis ) in Moscow, where she graduated in 1998, Alexei Borodin her acting studies. Khamatova started her career with multiple roles at various Moscow theaters and took a roll of film for the first time in 1997 in the Russian movie " Vremya Tanzora " ("The Time of the Dancer " ) to. Through the film " Papa Luna " by Bachtijar Chudojnasarow, which also starred Moritz Bleibtreu, she came in contact with the German film scene. Since her role in " Tuvalu " she works for cinema and television productions often in Germany. For her role in these two films, she has also been awarded at international film festivals. In 2005, she initiated with Dina Korzun since an annual benefit concert forming " Podari Zhizn " ( Grant Life ) for the treatment of children with oncological diseases, 2006, she was co-founder of the charity fund of the same name. 2008-2010 she was appointed to the Public Chamber of Russia. In 2012 she was honored as People's Artist of Russia.

From 1995 to 2002 she was married to actor Ivan Volkov. She has three daughters from her three marriages. Khamatova converted in their youth to Russian Orthodox Christianity. She speaks Russian, English and German, but not fluent in Tatar.
