Chung Ju-yung

Chung Ju -yung ( born November 25, 1915 in the province Kangwŏn -do; † 21 March 2001) was the founder of the Hyundai Group, South Korea's largest multinational conglomerate once ( chaebol ).

Life

Chung was born in the province Kangwŏn -do in today's North Korea and pursued until his death business interests in North Korea. After his death, several components of the Hyundai group were divided into independent companies, including Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Engineering and Construction.
