Čičmany

Čičmany ( Zimmermannshau German, Hungarian Csicsmány - to 1902 Csicsman ) is a municipality in the north-western Slovakia. It is located about 38 km southeast of Žilina, Hills in the mountains Strážovské.

The village was first mentioned in 1272 as Cziczman. It is known for its well-preserved folk architecture, wooden houses with white trimmings. 1977, the lower part of the church was declared a National Monument.
