Burnside connects to the Adelaide city center in the Northwest. The area includes 28 districts: Auldana, Beaumont, Beulah Park, Burnside, Dulwich, Eastwood, Erindale, Frewville, Glen Osmond, Glenside, Glenunga, Hazelwood, Kensington Gardens, Kensington Park, Leabrook, Leawood Gardens, Linden Park, Magill, Mount Osmond, Rose Park, Rosslyn Park, Skye, St Georges, Stonyfell, Toorak Gardens, Tusmore, Waterfall Gully and Wattle Park. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in Tusmore district.

1839 was the first time a Scottish settlers in the area and founded a farm. Five years later, Christopher Penfold settled in Magill and began with the wine. Penfolds is one of the oldest Australian winemaker and today exports worldwide. Magill and Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley are the two regions of Penfolds.

In the hilly area around the 384 m high Mount Osmond mining was carried out in the early hours and mine shafts can still be seen today.

Burnside is predominantly a prosperous residential area with lots of parks.

Management

The Burnside City Council has 13 members. Twelve Councillor will be elected by the residents of Ward 6 ( two each from Kensington Park, Kensington Gardens & Magill, Rose Park & ​​Toorak Gardens, Burnside, Beaumont and Eastwood & Glenunga ), are distributed among the 28 districts. The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the City.
