City of Canning

Canning is part of the metropolis of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. The area is 65 km ² in size and has about 77,000 inhabitants.

Canning takes its name from its location on the Canning River, the southern tributary of the Swan River, and is located approximately 8 to 25 km south-east of the center of Perth. The seat of the City Council is in the district of Cannington, where about 4100 inhabitants.

Management

The Canning Council has ten members. The members are elected by the residents of the four Wards ( three each from Bannister, Beeliar and Mason Ward, one from the Nicholson Ward) selected. From the circle of Councillor also the President of the Council and Mayor ( Mayor ) of the City recruited.
