Onkaparinga belongs to the city of Adelaide, capital of South Australia. The area is 518 km ² and has about 150,000 inhabitants.

Onkaparinga forms the southern end of Adelaide about 14 to 45 km from the city center. The area includes 51 districts: Aberfoyle Park, Aldinga, Aldinga Beach, Blewitt Springs, Chandlers Hill, Cherry Gardens, Christie Downs, Christie 's Beach, Clarendon, Coromandel East, Coromandel Valley, Darlington, Dorset Vale, Flagstaff Hill, Hackham, Hackham West, Happy Valley, Hunt Field Heights, Iron Bank, Kangarilla, Kuitpo, Lonsdale, Maslin Beach McLaren Flat, McLaren Vale, Moana, Morphett Vale, Noarlunga Centre, Noarlunga Downs, Old Noarlunga, Port Noarlunga, Port Noarlunga South, O'Halloran Hill, O O'Sullivan Beach, Old Reynella, Onkaparinga Hills, Reynella, Reynella East, Seaford, Seaford Heights, Seaford Meadows, Seaford Rise, Sellicks Beach, Sellicks Hill, Tatachilla, The Range, Whites Valley, Willunga, Willunga South, Port Willunga and Woodcroft.

The administrative headquarters of the Council located in the district Noarlunga Centre to the west of the LGA.

Management

The Onkaparinga City Council has 21 members, 20 are elected Councillor of the residents of the five wards ( four each from Knox, Mid South Coast, Pimpala, Thalassa and Wine Coast Ward). These five districts are set independently of the districts. The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the City.
