Shellharbour is located about 100 km south of the city of Sydney and 220 km northeast of the Australian capital Canberra on the Pacific coast of the state in the region Illawarra. The area includes 27 districts and towns: Albion Park, Albion Park Rail, Balarang, Barrack Heights, Barrack Point, Bass Point, Blackbutt, Calderwood, Croom, Dunmore, Flinders, Lake Illawarra, Lake Illawarra South, Lake South, North Macquarie, Macquarie pass, Mount Terry, Mount Warrigal, Oak Flats, Oak Heights, Shell Cove, Shellharbour, Shellharbour Square, Tongarra, Tullimbar, Warilla and yellow skirt. The seat of the City Council is located in the district of Shellharbour in the northeast of the LGA.

Management

The Shellharbour City Council has 13 members, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. Two members from the six Wards A to F, the chairman and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the LGA. The six electoral districts are defined independently of the villages.
