Clara Colosimo

Clara Colosimo (* May 23, 1922 in Conegliano, † 15 June 1994 in Rome) was an Italian actress.

Life

Colosimo studied opera singing in the mezzo-soprano vocal range, but then played theater. In the early 1960s, she went for a theater engagements to Rome, but played next to the end of their careers ever for the film industry. Especially she was asked for comedies and was hired by notable directors, so by Pietro Germi, Federico Fellini and Bernardo Bertolucci, and played alongside Renato pozzetto and Dustin Hoffman.

Between 1968 and her last film, Atto di dolore, her filmography includes 65 entries. Colosimo was praised for its characterizations of important secondary characters, she represented with warmth and culture. On stage starring roles are given as a governess in Eugène Ionesco's The Lesson for the " Teatro d' Avanguardia " in Trieste as well as the mother of Carla Gravina Alfredo, Alfredo 1972, the chambermaid of the Nietzsche family in Beyond Good and Evil 1977 or the grotesque figure of the billionaire with the desire for love proofs in Montecarlo Gran Casino 1987. Occasional television commitments round out their careers.
